We operate as a microschool / hybrid learning community, offering the structure and community of a school while giving families the flexibility of homeschooling. Parents can register their child as a homeschool student and use Lighthouse Learners as their child’s learning environment.
-
Yes! Families can choose between 2, 3, or 5-day options (full or half days) based on their needs. We’ll do our best to accommodate preferred days, depending on space.

Lighthouse Learners does not currently offer traditional before or aftercare; however, we understand that families sometimes need extra flexibility. On a case-by-case basis, families may arrange to drop off their child 10–15 minutes early with prior notice and approval.
For after-school care, we partner with and recommend Platinum, a trusted local company that provides pick-up service and aftercare options in our area. This allows families to extend their child’s day in a safe and structured environment while maintaining the calm, balanced rhythm we value during school hours.

We intentionally keep our group sizes small (around 12 students) to ensure every child receives personalized attention and support.
-
Our approach is built around understanding, patience, and gentle structure. We use sensory supports, movement breaks, and visual routines to help children stay regulated. We also teach executive functioning and emotional regulation skills through modeling, coaching, and consistent, loving guidance.
-
Absolutely. Many of our students come from environments that didn’t fit their learning style. We believe every child is capable of thriving when they feel safe, understood, and supported. Our individualized approach gives children space to rebuild confidence and rediscover a love for learning.
-
That’s okay—our calm, small-group setting helps children ease into social experiences at their own pace. We focus on building trust first, then gently encouraging connection, curiosity, and self-expression.
-
Yes — we warmly welcome children with mild to moderate learning differences, attention challenges, and sensory sensitivities. Our environment and approach are designed to be calm, flexible, and supportive for children who benefit from individualized attention and sensory-friendly strategies.
However, we are not equipped to support students with severe learning differences, nonverbal communication needs, or persistent aggressive behaviors. We want every child to thrive, and in some cases, a specialized therapeutic or behavioral setting may be a better fit. We’re always happy to help families find resources or programs that best meet their child’s needs.
